ASB BROODMARES

Top performance and great looking foals don't come by chance. Mare selection is paramount at Winning Colours Farm.   A proven pedigree bred 'in the purple' coupled with correct confirmation and sensibility, is mandatory for a Winning Colours Farm broodmare.    Our emphasis is always on quality which is reflected through our broodmares. We also have a small selection of quality thoroughbred derivative mares to suit other disciples (see our Other Broodmares page).

This 16.1hh mare is homozygous for the black gene, with stunning looks and the most kind and sweetest of natures. Rarely do you come across a mare of this calibre with the calm mind of a clydesdale.   She is a multiple race winner and $22,400 in just 11 starts.  Her sire Fine Action has incredible stats for a sire, having only two of his racing progeny without a win. Her 3rd dam is Donna Nook, a modest English stakeswinning stayer who has been a phenomenal source of brilliant horses in Australia including the Danehill son, Catbird $1.7Million.

Sire: Fine Action 20-7-2-2 $389,850 by Speeding Fine 16-4-2-1 $148,250.  O/o Yansu 6 -1-1-2  who is also the dam of Rash Action 29-17-3-2 $239,780 and Spykato $45,185.

Dam:  Moolerna who has produced 100% winners to runners to date, by County 14-7-3-1 $67,125 whose progeny have amassed dozens of stakeswins including Show County $1Million.  County is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Ike's Dream's unraced dam Mrs Khan. (Ike's dream winning over $1million and is Australia's record holder for the fastest 1600metres ever ran)

Her foals by Profile in Style will be sure performance AND show prospects  - not to mention dark and delightful!  If her resulting foal is a homozygous black frame overo, it will be only the THIRD OF ITS TYPE IN THE WORLD!

This 15.3hh well performed mare is a race winner as well as a successful showjumper. She is the complete package with her quality, brilliant mind and a pedigree bred for success.

Her dam producing 100% winners to runners, and with the greats Vain and Bletchingly on her sire's side it is no wonder she can perform.  Her full brother is a multiple race winner and was in the money 16 times out of 25 starts!

She is a Rabicano as well as sabino with a lot of roaning throughout.  As she passes on her strong sabino genes to her foals, we are not only excited about the high standard of foal she will produce, but the unique coat patterns that we are sure to get!   We have leased this tremendous mare for one season only.  She has been preg tested and is in foal to Profile In Style (USA) - due August 2009. Her foal will be eligible Australian Stud Book registry and will be a serious racing prospect as well as performance.  The foal will also be eligible American Paint Horse Association (APHA) AND Paint Horse Association of Australia (PHAA).

Pictured above are two of Heleray's super fancy foals which are so beautifully correct. WOW!

This exceptionally bred HOMOZYGOUS TRUE BLACK mare is a rarity among thoroughbreds, having NO AGOUTI genes.  She will breed blacks 75% of the time with true blacks 50% of the time when put to Profile In Style (USA) as he is capable of producing true blacks (many chestnuts and bays can never produce a true black - even when put to a true black - hence why true blacks only make up 1% of entire thoroughbreds born). She has a big 'bug' eye, lovely head and is very well put together.  She stands at approx 15hh and has produced the most outstanding stock.

Her sire is a Star Kingdom grandson and a son of Biscay (sire of Blechingly!) He is out of Elate - a FULL SISTER to VAIN.  She also has the highly sort after Owen Tudor in her pedigree.

If the resulting foal is a homozygous true black frame overo thoroughbred foal, it will be only the third of its type in the entire World!
